Hadden Hill Golf Club
Men's Section

A warm welcome to Hadden Hill Golf Club and especially to the Men's Section of the club.

The Club boasts so many facilities its great for players at any standard, even beginners – Driving range, par 3 course, chipping & putting areas and of course the 18 hole course.

A word to those who are new to the club. One of the best things about the men's section is that it's large, with lots going on. One of the toughest things about a large, busy men's section, if you're new, is getting to know people and finding a way in. If you are struggling for a partner, please ask at the office or contact any committee member. The Committee Members photos are located in the Clubhouse Lobby, so do please look out for us. We are here to help.

Second, to those who've been with Hadden Hill from its earliest years (almost 20 years now) and those who are much more recent, well done for making it a special place.

There's lots of information now in this members' section to keep you informed, help you stay in touch, and perhaps find your name in a list of competition winners, and even your photo on display.

Throughout the summer there are innumerable regular stroke play competitions, both stablefords and medals. Some are midweek and some at weekends. These are sign-up and play occasions. There are bigger competitions too, none more so than the Club Championship over 36 holes in early September. The competitions don't end as autumn moves us into winter, but mercifully some of the winter events are non-qualifiers for handicap purposes.

Matchplay events run throughout the summer months, both as an individual and as a pair, and are keenly contested. Throughout the year there are also several team competitions. September has a Finals Day and a special dinner at which major prizes for the whole season are awarded. There are winter knock-out games too, with no prizes for fashion on the coldest of days.

In addition, there are several “fun” competitions, such as a Texas Scramble on each Bank Holiday, Cross-Country Competitions where we play holes in a slightly different way to say the least, and this year a Night Time competition. And let’s not forget the Help for Heroes Charity Golf Day on 24 July 2010.

The best way to get to know people in the club has been the Thursday evening Thrash. It's a nine-hole competition, run by the Pro Shop. Pay your entry at the pro shop, and then go to the 10th tee between about 4.30 and 6.00, and you'll find someone to play with. Afterwards there's a members' discount on food and drink in the clubhouse, a perfect opportunity to socialise, celebrate and commiserate.

Hadden Hill Golf Club really does stay open all year round. It's a great club to belong to and I should know because I have been playing here for all of those 20 years the Club has been open.

Enjoy!
